‘Assassin’s Creed’ Trailer is Here and It’s Amazing!

Assassin's Creed, 20th Century Fox

The first trailer for Assassin’s Creed is finally here and it looks really good. Actually, it looks perfect. There are a few things to note here, the main character is not Desmond Miles, and this movie seems to be a completely new story. This is the best news ever! Check out the trailer below, then we will dig into it a bit more:

I don’t like the song picked for this trailer at all. It’s really a bad choice, but other than that there is little to really criticize here. This film looks like a perfect realization of the Assassin’s Creed games made by Ubisoft. This film takes place in present times, and during the Spanish Inquisition. Michael Fassbender will be a new character in the Assassin’s Creed  franchise, Callum Lynch, a criminal who has just been put to death.

He is brought back to life and told to enter the Animus, a machine that will allow Lynch to relive the memories of his ancestors, who are assassins. It is in these memories that Lynch will learn how to become an élite assassin. I am at a loss here, this film looks really good. I don’t think they could have made it any more perfect. The feel of the parkour and the city are spot on. Fassbender is a brilliant casting.

I can only assume that the Templars are the big villains in this film, the same as they are in the games. I do have one complaint, what is up with that big robotic arm? In the games The Animus is basically a computer and a doctor’s office bed. I guess that was a bit too bland for the studio. This film will feature multiple assassins, showing off their particular skill sets, in what looks to be one of the best video game movies to date.
