According to a report from Deadline, the next Friday the 13th film may land director Breck Eisner (The Last Witch Hunter, Sahara) to helm the reboot of the popular horror series for Paramount Pictures. The Director is in talks to helm the second reboot of the franchise.
Friday the 13th follows the exploits of Jason Vorhees, the hockey mask-wearing, machete wielding co-ed slasher as he makes sure that summer camp attendees will have the time of their lives. There is no indication whether the reboot will follow the formula of the first film with Vorhees mother attacking campers, or will Jason be the main villain of this film.
Previously David Bruckner was attached to helm the film, with a script written by Hannibal television series writer, Nick Antosca. Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are set to produce the project.
