Natalie Portman and the Marvel Cinematic Universe have a slighted history. The MCU has had to write around her absence in the last few Thor appearances, but now, it looks as if things are changing. In a recent tweet, director Taika Waititi posted a peculiar image, that might hint at the return of Natalie Portman. Could Jane Foster return for Thor: Ragnarok?
The tweet had two images of Portman, one when she was age 13 in Leon: The Professional, and the other of her at age 19 from the film Where the Heart Is. The image as had the caption, “Heed the signs” and ‘#Ragnarok’. Does this mean that she will appear in Thor: Ragnarok?

Portman previously stated that she was done with the franchise. She wasn’t on the set in Australia. With reports (via Mark Ruffalo) that reshoots for Thor: Ragnarok are about to take place, could this mean that Portman will shoot her scenes then? Will Portman just appear in a flashback or a cameo, or will her role be a bit larger for Ragnarok?
Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his home world and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – The Incredible Hulk!”
Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Sir Anthony Hopkins reprising his role as Odin, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Cate Blanchett is Hela, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Karl Urban is Skurge.
