If Early Reports are Correct, ‘Wonder Woman’ Will be the First Great DC Comics Movie

It is a good idea to wait until audiences see a film, before buying the initial hype that a movie is amazing. Batman v Superman was touted as a masterpiece before it hit theaters according to the hype. When the film hit, and fans were less-than amused, word leaked that only Warner Bros. executive saw the film early, and that is where most of the hype came from. The film didn’t fare well with audiences or critics. Could Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman, be the amazing film that everyone says it is, and change the direction for DC films?

Most early screenings of films garner their fair share of praise and negative remarks. There is no franchise that is immune to this process. Even if a film is great, there will still be a fair number of critics who will pick it apart when they write their review. Even James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 couldn’t escape this, although most critics loved the film.

This is really no indication that a film is great or horrible, it is merely a stepping-off point. Most films will get praise and negativity. This is just the way criticism works. That is what is surprising about the early reviews for Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman. There is no rift between reviewers, every one of them loved the film, and although some say it is rough in spots, it is the film DC fans have been waiting for.

Does this mean that Wonder Woman is going to be great? I cannot answer that, but here are some early reactions for the film:
