Kingsman: The Secret Service is based upon the graphic novel by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. In that, the Kingsman we know from the movies didn’t exist. Instead, they are a Secret Service similar to that of the one in America.
A teaser trailer for the latest installment in the Kingsman series was released back in July. Months later a better look is here with a full-length trailer.
Take a look at the trailer below:
In 2014, Eggsy Unwin (Taron Egerton) and Roxy Morton (Sophie Cookson) became a gentleman spies. They took on Richmond Valentine and lost Harry Hart (Colin Firth).
The film garnered love and adoration from critics and fans alike. A second movie was greenlit and its release saw a less than favorable reception. That hasn’t deterred those involved as The King’s Man is coming next year.
Set in the backdrop of the early 1900s, The King’s Man shows the origin of the spy agency. It boasts an impressive cast in Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Charles Dance, and Djimon Hounsou.
Two of the notable Kingsman figureheads, Arthur and Merlin, are in the movie. According to IMDb, Charles Dance and Stanley Tucci are in the roles respectively.
Along with the new trailer, a poster for The King’s Man is here. Take a look at it below:
Tom Hollander plays three different characters, as seen in the poster above. It’s unclear why this is happening and if it’ll be part of the overall story. However, more Tom Hollander is something I’ll never say no to.
The trailer shows Rhys Ifans as Grigori Rasputin who wants to change the world order with the use of poison. There’s also a shot of a shady organization banging their fists on the table. It appears the two are together and they will be the Kingsman version of James Bond’s Spectre.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is also in the cast but there’s been no footage of him yet. Rumors suggest it’s because he’s playing Lee Unwin, the father of Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin.
If this is true then the movie could end with the beginning of the first movie. It may actually be a Lee Unwin from the 1900s to show Eggy’s ancestors.
The King’s Man releases in theatres around the world on February 14, 2020.
