Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World trailer, revealed at D23 Brazil, gave fans an exciting preview of Sam Wilson’s (Anthony Mackie) journey as he fully steps into the mantle of Captain America.

The trailer features Sam grappling with both political and physical challenges, with Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (Harrison Ford) presenting an intense new antagonist as he transforms into the Red Hulk. The visuals show a tense confrontation between Sam and the Red Hulk, promising high-stakes action.

Fans also caught glimpses of The Leader (Tim Blake Nelson), a returning villain from The Incredible Hulk (2008), who brings his intellectual prowess into the plot as a master strategist. There’s also the inclusion of Ruth Bat-Seraph in the trailer, who is a former Black Widow agent.

In the comics Bat-Seraph becomes Sabra, but we might not get this full realization quite yet.

Set in a politically charged landscape, the trailer hints at major MCU shifts, including the emergence of adamantium, potentially sourced from the celestial remains of Tiamut in the Indian Ocean. This is also one of the first times we’re seeing or hearing about the mysterious Celestial body in the middle of the ocean.

The trailer maintains a grounded tone reminiscent of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, weaving together action and nuanced social commentary. The film explores the complexities of power and the weight of the Captain America title in modern times.

This patriotic yet introspective narrative prepares audiences for Brave New World. This movie solidifies Sam Wilson’s role as a new-age hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
