Wonder Woman released in 2017 to fanfare from critics and fans. It cements Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince as one of the best Superheroes onscreen and there’s been a buzz for its sequel.
Until now we’ve only seen behind the scenes pictures and character images. However, at Comic-Con Experience in Brazil, the first official trailer for Wonder Woman 84 has been released.
Take a look at it below:
As you can see the trailer starts off in a somber way showing Diana losing her friends due to time. She then meets a new one, Barbara, played by Kristen Wiig.
It then goes into Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord, who is the main villain of the movie. However, Cheetah is also confirmed to be an antagonist and we have our first look at her.
Even though she doesn’t have a final form, Patty Jenkins hinted at CCXP that there will be a comic accurate Cheetah in the movie.
One of the biggest moments in the trailer is Diana using bolts of lightning to fly through the air as if she’s Spider-Man. It’ll be interesting to see what leads to this moment and if it’s used again.
If the trailer is anything to go by, Wonder Woman 1984 will be vastly different from its predecessor. It looks to be a very fun and more out there comic book movie than the previous.
It’ll also include stunning fight sequences and one of the most beautiful costumes ever: the Golden Eagle armor.
Before Wonder Woman 1984 comes out, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn returns in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). That’ll be in theatres on February 7, 2020. James Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie is currently filming and Matt Reeves’ The Batman goes into production next year.
Wonder Woman 1984 releases in June 2020.
