The wait for Marvel’s highly-anticipated solo film for Black Panther is here and it is brilliant kick in the face! Last night, during game 4 of the NBA Finals, the trailer hit. It shocking fans at how different the technologically advanced world of Wakanda really looks. This is a film fifty years in the making, ever since the hero appeared in Fantastic Four Vol. 1 Issue 52.
The trailer was originally scheduled to drop next week during game 5 or 6 of the NBA Finals. The Golden State Warriors were on the brink of capturing the championship with a sweep. So Marvel was forced to drop the teaser last night.
The world of Wakanda is full of amazing costumes, bright colors, and technology we have yet to see in the MCU. We will talk more about the trailer and the film after you check out the first official teaser trailer for Black Panther below:
We see that the Third-World appearance of Wakanda is actually a ruse, because the country is the hidden location of El Dorado. After the King of Wakanda (King T’Chaka) was killed during the events of Captain America: Civil War, the throne is passed down to his son T’Challa. T’Challa has his hands full, because there are many other groups within his country that want to take the throne from him. As old foes and new enemies arise, will T’Challa be able to keep Wakanda from the brink of war?
SYNOPSIS: After the events of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, King T’Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country’s new leader. However, T’Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne from factions within his own country. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakanadan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.
Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman (Get on Up), Michael B. Jordan (Creed), Lupita Nyong’o (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out), Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead). The film also stars Martin Freeman (The Hobbit), and Andy Serkis (Avengers: Age of Ultron). It is directed by Ryan Coogler, and written by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole.
Black Panther hits theaters on February 6, 2018.
