Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984 could potentially be the first big tentpole film to hit theaters in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Despite setbacks, the world must still turn. A batch of new images from WW84 hit the internet today.
The images come courtesy of Empire Magazine ahead of their Wonder Woman 1984 issue. Diana (Gal Gadot) donning her comic-famous Golden Eagle armor’s one of the best shots of the bunch. The image reveals more of the suit which is stunning.

Gadot goes on to tell Empire Online about Diana’s growth in between the two films:
“The first movie was a coming of age, it was Diana becoming Wonder Woman. She was very naive and she didn’t understand the complexities of life. A fish out of water. In this movie, that’s not the case whatsoever. Diana has evolved.
She’s much more mature and very wise. However, she’s very lonely. She lost all of her team members and she’s guarded. And then something crazy happens.”
‘Crazy’ refers to Steve Trevor’s (Chris Pine) return from dying in the final act of the first film. It’s a move that have most people bailed, yet the trailers hint that Trevor might be a figment of Diana’s imagination or an illusion created by one of the film’s villains, Maxwell Lord:
“Chris was an integral part of the movie, and of its success, and because he and I and Patty really enjoyed working together, we all wanted to have him back.
And Patty and [co-writer] Geoff Johns found the best way that serves the narrative to bring Steve back.”
Keep your fingers crossed that Warner Brothers does push the release date for WW84 back because of COVID-19 fallout concerns.
