Obama Family Backs ‘The Fifth Risk’ for Upcoming Netflix Deal

The Fifth Risk, Michael Lewis

In an unsurprising move, Barack and Michelle Obama acquired Moneyball and The Big Short author Michael Lewis’ new book The Fifth Risk, with hopes to turn the novel into a series with Netflix.

The Obama/Netflix deal will allow the Obama’s to bring a number of projects to the streaming service. With no greenlit projects in the chute, there are a number of potential prospects lining up.

The Fifth Risk, Michael LewisThe book chronicles the anarchy that took over the Departments of Energy, Agriculture, and Commerce in the wake of the Obama Administration’s handoff to the Trump Administration. Lewis interviewed many people in the various departments. According to claims in the book, the previous administration created briefing books for the handoff, but few new members showed interest or were qualified for the jobs.

Lewis’ last book picked up by Netflix was his Wall Street reform novel, titled Flash Boys. Ben Jacoby is set to adapt the novel.

The Fifth Risk, Michael LewisThis news is just another stone thrown from a past administration at the Trump Presidency. As long as the pot continues to be stirred, chaos will be king. It appears as though the Obama’s has a strong hatred of Trump and his people. Unfortunately for the American people, we have to sit through all of this meaningless banter.

Put this series on a short list of things I won’t see.
