The first trailer for the Power Rangers franchise reboot movie amazed everyone with its new approach tot he franchise. The dark, edgy feel of the new film look great. This time around, the Rangers armor and words will appear more alien in appearance than the 1990s television shows and films. The villains have also gotten a Hollywood makeover. Elizabeth Banks is portraying a sexier Rita Repulsa this time around, and Goldar is losing the crazy ape/werewolf look. There is no doubt that this version of Power Rangerswill be completely different from the television show you grew up watching.
The movie gets its first international trailer, and it features a good amount of new footage. Check out the international trailer for Power Rangers below:
Here is the official synopsis of the film:
“Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.”
The latest rumors to come up are that Jason David Frank might have a cameo in the film. Frank was the Green Ranger in the original series. This rumor surfaced via Blake Foster’s Twitter account. Most would know Foster as the Blue Ranger in Power Rangers Turbo. He has since denied any of these allegations, but cameos from the old cast could happen. It would be something welcomed by fans.
Power Rangers stars Bryan Cranston (Zordon), Elizabeth Banks (Rita Repulsa), Naomi Scott (Kimberly/Pink Ranger), David Denman (Sam Scott), Becky G. (Trini/Yellow Ranger), Sarah Grey (Amanda), RJ Cyler (Billy Cranston/Blue Ranger), Emily Maddison (Rebecca), Ludi Lin (Zack Taylor/Black Ranger), and Dacre Montgomery (Jason Lee Scott/Red Ranger).
