Big Game #4 is the newest issue in the explosive Millarworld crossover. It promises to bring superheroes, assassins, spies, magic users and more together to uncover a deadly secret from the world’s past that will change the course of the future. The story is by Mark Millar while the art comes from Pepe Larraz.
Be careful of spoilers from other Millarworld comics within the review including the first two issues of Big Game. However, spoilers for the latest issue will be kept to a minimum and even then it won’t be specific. The main thing is to go into these issues as blindly as possible.
Big Game #3 saw the demise of even more heroes while The Magic Order refuses to help. They’re only able to interfere in supernatural threats but only time will tell if that sticks. Meanwhile, Hit-Girl escapes an onslaught through time travel but where has it taken her? Maybe we’ll get some of these answers in the latest issue…
Big Game #4 makes like Huey Lewis and the News and goes back in time. It’s through this we visit another cornerstone of the Millarworld universe and through the eyes of a fan-favorite character. Certainly, one of my favorite characters in both comic and live-action. This isn’t to mention how it furthers the story with an intriguing turn that sets the stage for a finale not to miss.
It’s cliché for me to say but there isn’t more I can say about the story without spoiling what’s inside. It’s in your best interest to know as little as possible and what I’ve already mentioned was teased in the previous issue. One thing I can say about this issue is that the Millarworld universe will never be the same again.
Pepe Larraz continues to astound with his artwork. You only need to look at the image below to see his brilliance. However, this is only skimming the surface, and just wait until you see what he’s got in store for the rest of the pages.
Big Game #4 pushes us closer to the end while promising a world-changing event that’ll turn everything on its head. Nothing will be the same ever again.
