Paramount Pictures premiered the first trailer for the G.I. Joe spin-off/ series reboot Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins during the MTV Movie and TV Awards show this evening.
Check out first full-length G.I. Joe trailer below:
Henry Golding stars in the role of Snake Eyes in his early days before becoming mute and donning the mask that makes the character so unique.
Check out the official synopsis for the film below:
An ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage welcomes tenacious loner Snake Eyes after he saves the life of their heir apparent.
Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach him the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing him something he’s been longing for: a home.
However, when secrets from Snake Eyes’ past are revealed, his honor and allegiance get tested — even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him.
Snake Eyes also stars Andrew Koji as rival Storm Shadow, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, and Ursula Corbero as classic Cobra villain The Baroness.
This soft reboot’s up against a number of heavy-hitter films this July. Hopefully the fanbase takes to this new G.I. Joe film, because the last two films were met with disdain from diehard fans. Even casual audiences had problems with them.
