‘The Walking Dead’ to Come to an End with Season 11

The Walking Dead is on its last legs as it has been confirmed the series ends in 2021. Season 11 will be the final season of the hit AMC show. Based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead has had a long road.

When fans last saw the series, it was cut short due to Covid-19. However, what was supposed to be the final episode of season 10 is airing October 4. Afterwards, the five episodes that were going to be the start of season 11 will air in early 2021.

These episodes are now the final batch of season 10. This means we’ll have a longer season 10 but there’s no word on what it means for season 11. It’s likely season 11 will finish in 2022, but the legacy lives on.

It’s also confirmed another two spin-off series are coming. One is an anthology series Tales From the Walking Dead. It revolves around different characters every episode. However, there’s no word on if they will be original or from the source material.

This would be a good way for the universe to explore other countries.

Fans of Daryl and Carol might be glad to know they are receiving their own series. That’s right, set after season 11, two fan-favorite characters are headlining their own show. What that means for the rest of their allies is unclear.

Although, it does lessen the stakes to know those two can’t die from now until their series. Still, it’s good to see two of the show’s most developed characters getting a bigger chance to shine.

And last, but not least, the movie featuring Rick Grimes is still scheduled to be released. While it’s the end of the flagship show there is no signs of the universe slowing down.

The Walking Dead returns for one episode October 4. Meanwhile, Fear the Walking Dead season six premieres October 11 and Beyond the Walking Dead starts straight after The Walking Dead on October 4.
