The first film was a surprise smash hit for Sony Pictures. The sequel looks to continue on with the familiar hijinks from the first film. This time around, a new villain emerges. Carnage is another symbiote, and he’s hell-bent on destroying the world.
The first film nabbed $855 million worldwide at the box office, in spite of mixed reviews from critics. The first film had a slight rom-com feel, while this one looks to lap into the buddy cop genre film.
Venom 2 sees Tom Hardy reprise the role of Eddie Brock, the reporter possessed by an alien being known as a Sybiote. Andy Serkis (Black Panther) directs the second film in the franchise.
Woody Harrelson in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage. Michelle Williams and Naomie Harris also co-star, with Harris reportedly playing Shriek.
Venom: Let There be Carnage hits theaters on September 24.
