2016 Eisner Award Winners Are In

At San Diego Comic Con the 28th Annual Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards were held.  The nominees and winners this year include everything from the gritty, to the beautiful, to the experimental. Some notable winners include Adrian Tomine for Killing and Dying,  Ed Brubaker for The Fade Out, Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang for Paper Girls, and Dustin Nguyen for his painting work on Descender.

Other highlights of the Eisner Awards included Richard E. Hughes and Elliot S. Maggin’s receipt of the Bill Finger Award for Excellence in Comic Book Writing and new initiates into the Hall of Fame, Carl Burgos, Tove Jansson(Judges’ Choices), Lynda Barry, Rube Goldberg, Matt Groening,  and Jacques Tardi (Voter’s Choices). Held every year at the San Diego Comic-Con, the Eisner Awards are the most prestigious awards in comics.

The San Diego Comic-Con takes place every year in July.
