Warner Bros. Pictures has taken note of Marvel’s successful film formula, and has started to lay the foundation for a large cinematic universe. This is clearly apparent in their attempts to make the first Justice League film a two-part series. When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters, fans were treated to easter eggs and hints that teased what was to come in the future for the DC Cinematic Universe. These hints came during Batman’s dream sequence, and in a few hints dropped by Lex Luthor. One of the biggest hints came in the form of a deleted scene that was released the same day that the film hit theaters. You can read about the scene here.

In the scene, you can see Luthor being educated by the genesis machine, and in front of him there is a large horned creature surrounded by three boxes. The boxes were the mother boxes, and you can even see one bring Cyborg to life in the film. Fan speculation instantly assumed that we were going to see Darkseid be the big, bad villain in Justice League.

According to Heroic Hollywood, We will not see Darskseid features in the first film, rather we will get his top lieutenant, Steppenwolf, as the primary villain. The report goes on to say that we will see Darkseid come to Earth by the end of the film. It also goes on to say that we will see Darkseid in the beginning of the film during a flashback. It is rumored that in this scene, we will see Darkseid when he first came to Earth, 30,000 years in the past. The rumors go on to say that during this invasion Humans will team up with Atlanteans and Amazonians to defeat the God.

These are just rumors at this point, so don’t forget your salt shakers.
