When somebody mentions DC Comics and video games, there’s one trilogy that instantly comes to mind. That is Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham trilogy (or quartet if you count Warner Brother Interactive’s Batman: Arkham Origins).
It’s nearly been five years since the controversial Batman: Arkham Knight was released.
Since then, rumors continuously pop up suggesting what the next game is. Whether it revolves around the Suicide Squad, Damian Wayne or Batman Beyond it’s unsure. However, recent leaks suggest the game will be a reboot and have the Batman go toe to toe with the deadly Court of Owls.
Those same rumors say players will take control of the rest of the Bat-Family in a major way. Apparently, the reveal will come at this years E3. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, E3 is no more. It’s difficult to know if we’ll ever find out what the next game is.
Teasers are on Warner Brothers Interactive Twitter with the title “Capture the Knight.” There’s signs that point to the inclusion of the League of Assassins, as well as an unnamed military unit.
With everything up in the air, it’s uncertain what Batman game we’ll see next and from which company. Although there’s no confirmation it’s going to be about Batman. For all we know, the next game could be the long-rumored Superman one.
Of course, Rocksteady and Warner Brothers aren’t the only companies who have produced Batman games recently. Telltale Games released two Batman games and reimagined the Mythology in an incredible way.
Unfortunately, Telltale is no longer a company and it seems fans will never get to see the third installment.
Due to this, it’s looking likely the next DC game will come from Warner Brothers Interactive. Let’s take a look at five ideas for other DC Comics games.
