‘DC Comic’ Characters Who Deserve Game Adaptations

Bat-Family

The first idea on the list is one that is the current rumor. The Bat-Family consists of several characters from Batman’s comics. These include Nightwing, Red Robin, Robin, Batwoman, Batgirl, Spoiler, and Orphan. There are others but those are the main ones.

Each character has their own specific set of skills and stories. Some of the characters also come with their own locations, such as Nightwing who looks after Bludhaven.

Batman: Arkham Knight already lets players play as Nightwing and Robin within the main story. The DLC content also gives control of Red Hood, Batgirl, and even Harley Quinn.

Therefore there’s a precedent for this but the Bat-Family game wouldn’t focus on Batman as the protagonist. Instead, it’ll allow the others to shine and be the center of attention.

Rumors persist there is a Bat-Family game in the works. Its Developer seems to be Warner Brothers Interactive and supposedly it will be titled Batman: Arkham Legacy.

Even though it uses the Arkham brand, it will be a soft reboot. Several teasers are online showing an image with logos inside of them. The majority of the spaces are empty but theories point to the empty spaces being the playable characters.

The two logos in the image are of a Government organization and another with a Demon’s head. The Government organization is unknown at this time and might be an original idea.

However, the Demon’s head points to the League of Assassins as that’s Ra’s Al Ghul’s name. Other rumors suggest the Court of Owls are part of the game as well. Furthermore, other teasers feature the tagline “Capture the Knight.”

It seems like a number of organizations are trying to take down the Batman. If that’s true then hopefully it’ll center on the Bat-Family splitting up tasks and taking down the individual organizations.

Hopefully, more information will be available soon. Although, there’s an uncertainty due to E3 being canceled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

While the rumors say Nightwing, Robin and Batgirl are the playable characters, they are other Bat-Family characters who should be looked at. One of the major additions should be Batwoman.

If there’s one thing the Batman games could improve on is its playability of its Heroines.

But, more importantly, Batwoman is on Batman’s level but doesn’t share his thoughts on morality. The best way to show this is by using Batwoman at the beginning of her Bat career while she butts heads with her cousin, Bruce Wayne.

Other characters to think about including are Jason Todd (Red Hood), Spoiler (Stephanie Brown) and Orphan (Cassandra Cain). The last two may not be well known to the general audience but they are additions to the Bat-Family that bring in new dynamics.

Whether we’ll see the next Batman game be released this year is uncertain. If rumors are to believed, then it’ll release later this year. Only time will tell.
