Did Someone Just Leak Images of XBox Series X?

Late last year during he 2019 Game Awards, Microsoft surprised the world when they announced their next generation console- the XBox Series X. The official release of the console’s a few months away, and someone might have just released the first images of the console.

Twitter user @Doug-DragoX posted up two images of what appears to be the XBox Series X. One image showing the front of the console, and one showing the first look of the back. It’s the first time that the back and rear ports of the console are visible.

Check out the post below:

Although the images seem legit, approach them with a certain level of apprehension. In the past a number of false images dropped appearing to be real.

One thing that has people buzzing is that the rear image also includes a Microsoft serial number for the system. If you go enter the number into Microsoft’s website it is a valid serial number for a “Non-Specific” Microsoft device.

This is interesting. Although it doesn’t officially confirm the validity of the images, but it does reinforce them.

Furthermore, Thurott released a specs breakdown of the console, including a detailed description of the ports on the rear and back of the XBox Series X. These pics match up almost exactly with the report.

The images reveal that the system launches with a number of rear ports including Ethernet, HDMI, an S/PDIF port for audio out, a power port, and two USB Type-A ports. One port remains a mystery. The long slot next to the Ethernet port isn’t on any current XBox, and likely means the device’s compatible with a new unannounced Kinect, or VR/AR headset.

Big announcements about the XBox Series X should hit during E# 2020.
