The head writer and creator for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will return to write Captain America 4 for Marvel Studios.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier just finished airing on Disney+, and set up the new Captain America, a.k.a. Black Falcon, a.k.a. The Falcon, otherwise known as Sam Wilson.
Chris Evans portrayed Captain Steve Rogers in the first three films in the franchise, but after Endgame someone needed to fill the role of Captain America. This is the premise of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
With the series officially passing off the Captain America mantle (in a rather spectacular way), The franchise can move forward with a completely new hero in the role. This new Cap comes with his own set of internal conflicts that motivate him to do good.
Falcon and Winther Soldier Showrunner, Malcolm Spellman will team up with one of the show’s staff writers Dalan Musson to pen the fourth installment in the Captain America franchise.
There’s no director or casting announcements at the time of this article, but an announcement should come soon.
Anthony Mackie didn’t find out about Captain America 4 from Marvel Studios though. He actually learned of the news from a crazy source:
I literally found out yesterday in a grocery store. The checkout guy named Dwayne, a cool cat, he’s like, ‘Yo, man. Is this real?!’ [holds up a cellphone] I’m like, ‘I haven’t heard anything.’
That’s what I love about working for Marvel. They call you, they’re like, ‘Come to L.A. We wanna tell you what’s going on.’ So, I’m excited to see what happens, but I haven’t heard anything.
Marvel chief Kevin Feige recently stated that there’s no plans for Chris Evans to reprise the role, but that doesn’t mean that Evans wouldn’t show up in Cap 4.
