If you follow my writing, then you know that one of my all-time favorite movies is Pacific Rim. When news broke that Guillermo del Toro wasn’t going to direct the sequel, my heart wept. It appeared as though Pacific Rim 2 was bound for production hell, and would be lost with thousands of other movies looking for life. I began to lose hope, but then a miracle began to happen. In the last few weeks, word began to filter to the internet, about Pacific Rim 2.
My excitement began to flurry again. John Boyega signed on recently, to star in the film that has Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil) set to direct. Femi Oguns has also signed on to be in the film. Now confirmation comes that the film will hit theaters worldwide! An official release date is set for February 23, 2018. Guillermo del Toro will be executive producer of the project.

My dream is coming true! Once again humanity will face an alien threat. humans will once suit up, and jump into their Jaegers, giant robots built to combat the giant alien threats. Here is an official synopsis of Pacific Rim:
Long ago, legions of monstrous creatures called Kaiju arose from the sea, bringing with them all-consuming war. To fight the Kaiju, mankind developed giant robots called Jaegers, designed to be piloted by two humans locked together in a neural bridge. However, even the Jaegers are not enough to defeat the Kaiju, and humanity is on the verge of defeat. Mankind’s last hope now lies with a washed-up ex-pilot (Charlie Hunnam), an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) and an old, obsolete Jaeger.
There is no better feeling than watching giant robots kick the hell out of big monstrous aliens on the big screen. If you are a fan of the Alamo Drafthouse, then grab you a few pints and enjoy. It is sheer delight!
