It looks like Covid-19 has done something Laurie Strode couldn’t and that is stopping Michael Myers. But like every good slasher, he refuses to stay down. Halloween Kills release date of October 16, 2020 is changing to October 15, 2021.
Unfortunately, that means we’ll need to wait another year before seeing what happens next with Laurie and Michael.
However, our appetites are being fed as a teaser has been released by Universal Pictures. While it is only a very short clip, it gives us an insight into how the infamous serial killer survives.
Take a look at the teaser below:
As you can see from the teaser above, the emergency services are going to the house while Laurie, her daughter and her granddaughter warn them to let him burn. Halloween Kills is the second movie in a trilogy that continues the story of the first Halloween movie created by John Carpenter.
For those who don’t remember the ending of Halloween, Laurie and her family face-off with Michael in Laurie’s house. Turning the narrative on its head, it becomes clear Laurie’s house is actually a prison for Michael Myers. She burns it down, hoping to destroy the boogeyman forever.
The creator of Halloween, John Carpenter, retains a producer credit on the new trilogy. As such, he has released a joint statement with director David Gordon-Green.
Halloween Kills sees the return of Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak, Judy Greer and Nick Castle from the previous movie. Characters from the original 1978 movie are returning too, but it looks like most of the original actors won’t be returning to the roles. The joint statement makes it sound like Halloween Kills is going to be a crazy ride.
With the cameras unable to roll right now, there’s no telling when Halloween Ends will start filming. However, since Halloween Kills is releasing later, there’s no need to panic and it can easily make a 2022 release date.
Halloween Kills releases in theatres, 15 October 2020.
