Clive Barker joins the executive producer team on HBO’s future series adaptation of Hellraiser. The series continues the mythology of the film franchise.
The series penned by Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Gallactica) and Michael Dougherty (Trick R’ Treat). Verheiden serves as showrunner for the series, with Roy Lee (IT), Dan Farah (Ready Player One) and David Gordon Green, Danny McBride, Jody Hill, and Brandon James executive producing.

Continuing the franchise leaves plenty of room for the series to function. Fans can be that the series will be filled with enough gore and sadism to make everyone happy.
According the Barker, he’s:
“delighted the Hellraiser mythology is seeing a new life. It’s time the stories went back to their roots. I’m eager to bring to a new audience the most powerful and ancient elements of horror: the darkest evil invading our human lives and how we must find in ourselves the power to resist it.”
David Gordon Green helms the first few episodes.
