Hulu dropped a mysterious teaser trailer for Prey. Dan Trachtenberg (The Boys, 10 Cloverfield Lane) directs the new straight-to-streaming Predator flick.
Check out the first full-length trailer below:
Prey isn’t a reboot, rather the film is a prequel to the Predator franchise. This film looks great! The previous entries in the franchise fell short of audience and critical expectations. The first film, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, is the best film in the franchise, by far.
20th Century Studios’ Prey‘s an all-new action-thriller set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago.
It is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior who has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains. So when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people.
The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
The interesting thing about the cast is that they are almost all Native and First Nation actors and actresses. The cast includes Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, and Julian Black Antelope. Patrick Aison wrote the screenplay, with John Davis and Jhane Myers sharing producer credits.
