Marvel slaps us in the face again, with another bleak trailer for Avengers: Endgame. The world is not a good place for the Avengers, who are left defeated and in disarray in the wake of The Snap (referred to as the Decimation).
Check out the new teaser below:
The trailer starts off by giving us shots of past MCU films in black-and-white, with only red accents in each of them, followed by the Marvel Studios logo themed the same way. The shots feature Avengers that fell in the Snap.
That is when we get a few shots of the US after the Decimation. The world is empty. Cars and boats are stranded and empty. A lot of boats are littering the waters around the Statue of Liberty. Everybody is broken and confused. The Avengers are beat down, mourning, but not giving up. Not just yet.
The trailer is loaded with new but brief glimpses of footage from the film. According to Kevin Feige, the footage released in trailers is only from the first 20 minutes of the film. So, don’t expect spoilers.
Endgame currently clocks in at 3 hours long, and Marvel is toying with the idea of adding an intermission into the film. I think the bigger question would be can they find a break in the emotion and action to effectively insert an intermission?
