Marvel’s Avengers Update Brings Hawkeye And More

Marvel’s Avengers is the latest in the line of video games for the comic book universe. Releasing on the 14th August 2020, it’s another casualty of the ongoing pandemic. The game was released in an unfinished state. Bugs and glitches are still there, but the developers are working hard to fix them.

Players expected a new character to be introduced every month. However, that didn’t happen as developers are working from home. Their internet connections aren’t as fast as they would be at the Crystal Dynamics HQ.

So far, we’ve had Kate Bishop come to the game as post-game DLC. But, on the 18th March that is going to change.

The original Hawkeye, Clint Barton, is going to be playable. He’ll also come with his own mission that continues the overarching story. Players will travel to the future where the world has been devastated by the Kree. They will also face Maestro.

Maestro is the villainous side of the Hulk driven crazy by everything he’s seen. Clint is a welcome addition to the game. It’ll be interesting to see where his operation takes the game’s story. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for the return of Nick Fury too.

If that isn’t enough, Crystal Dynamics has confirmed several other features coming to the game on the same day. Firstly, next-generation players will be happy to know an upgrade is coming. On the 18th of March, those who have a Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X will see improvements.

These come in the form of 4K graphics, faster loading times, and 60 fps. Much like other upgraded games, the next-gen edition will be free to those who already have the Playstation 4 or Xbox One versions.

Alongside the update, players will be able to experience the story again. It’s a feature fans have been asking for since the game released. Finally, we’re getting it and it’ll be good to re-play the story on a faster console. Plus, it’s a good refresher for the rest of this season of the Avengers story.

The last part of the update concerns the HARM rooms. These are where players fight a series of waves of villains. While it’s repetitive to fight the same ones over and over, Crystal Dynamics is bringing in a way to fix that.

HARM rooms will be customisable after the update. This means we can choose enemy types, hazards and buffs. Group size of enemies will also be customisable. It looks like it could be claustrophobic so the question is if they’ll expand the HARM room. Perhaps the background can be customisable at some point too.

Marvel’s Avengers is available to buy on Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC. The Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X versions release 18th March 2021.
