If the first teaser trailer for the YouTube series Cobra Kai, we saw a rivalry ignited after decades of life. The Daniel LaRusso vs. Johnny face-off was a moment of cinematic history, that stuck with most of us through time. The Karate Kid became a timeless film in that moment, and by the time the credits rolled, a new karate revolution began.
Now, a new revolution hopes to ignite that same moment, and make you care about the teachings of a sensei once again. Check out the new teaser trailer below:
In this long-awaited sequel, Johnny restarts the Cobra Kai dojo, and takes on new students. One unique student (Xolo Maridueña) begins to stand out above the rest. This isn’t a Daniel/ Mr. Miyagi relationship, its sarcastic and far more sinister.
It is a short tease, but one that is completely full of new footage. Near the end of the teaser trailer there is what appears to be a new tournament, and a great final scene. Is that an all-new All Valley Karate Tournament? It appears so. The final scene has you yearning to hear Johnny say wax-on, wax-off, yet it doesn’t happen.
What kind of show will Cobra Kai be? When will we see a full trailer? There are so many questions right now.
