Big Game #3 is the newest issue in the explosive Millarworld crossover. It promises to bring superheroes, assassins, spies, magic users and more together to uncover a deadly secret from the world’s past that will change the course of the future. The story is by Mark Millar while the art comes from Pepe Larraz.
Be careful of spoilers from other Millarworld comics within the review including the first two issues of Big Game. However, spoilers for the latest issue will be kept to a minimum and even then it won’t be specific. The main thing is to go into these issues as blindly as possible.
Big Game #2 brought in characters such as Hit-Girl and Eggsy who team up after the Fraternity comes for the former. Meanwhile, Eddison Crane gets help from the Chrononauts to go back in time and see how the world used to be. Of course, the Fraternity knows everything that happens and is already waiting for them when they return to the present.
There isn’t much to say about Big Game #3 that hasn’t been said before. It’s also difficult to even think about exploring the events due to most panels being spoilers. However, expect to see more familiar faces and, as always, to say goodbye to others. Once the crossover is finished I’ll be able to go into more detail about the story. Moreover, to borrow a tagline from a James Gunn DC movie – don’t get too attached.
The art from Pepe continues to be great and it’s amazing to see these different characters under one art style. It gives the universe a sense of cohesion.
Things are heating up and the heroes are losing… what will it take for them to stop the Fraternity? I guess we’ll find out soon.
