One of the most-anticipated upcoming Marvel films is Spider-Man: Homecoming. If you have seen Captain America: Civil War, you already know that Tom Holland was the perfect choice for Peter Parker. Other big names that are attached to the film are Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, and Donald Glover.
The biggest casting surprise was adding Donald Glover, a name that surfaced as a possible casting for Spider-Man in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise. This fueled speculation that Donald Glover might be Miles Morales, the second most popular comic book Spider-Man.
Now comes news that two more have been added to the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming. According to Heat Vision, Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo, Riddick) and Michael Mando (Better Call Saul, Orphan Black) have joined the cast of the Sony Pictures film. There is no word what roles they are cast for, but popular theory suggests that Woodbine’s role is that of Daily Bugle editor Robbie Robertson.
When Does Spider-Man: Homecoming Take Place?
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set days or months after the events of Civil War. Robert Downey Jr. will have a cameo in the film as Tony Stark, and will more-than-likely serve as only a mentor to the young Peter Parker. Details of the film are being kept under wraps for the time being, but news from the set should start coming out soon.
Jon Watts is set to directing the film, and shooting begins this week in Atlanta.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set for a July 7, 2017.
