Like it or not, Transformers 5: The Last Knight is happening. The big question in the rumor mill, is what does the title mean? How will this film tie into the others? If the last film is any indication, it will be very vaguely. Just look at the approach Michael Bay and team took with Transformers 4. Early reports confirm that Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel will be reprising their roles in the franchise as Cade Yeager and Lt. Col William Lennox, respectively. We know that Anthony Hopkins has signed on with the film as well.
The Plot
A new report out, claims that the film’s title refers to famous knights throughout history. More specifically, the knights from the King Arthur legend. According to JoBlo, the new film will have Optimus Prime return to Cybertron. When he gets there, he finds that the planet is dead. He also finds out that it is his fault that Cybertron died. In order to bring Cybertron back, he must find an artifact on Earth that is tied to Merlin and King Arthur’s court.
Who’s Coming Back?
JoBlo goes on to say that the artifact was used to give Merlin his magic. Do you think that the artifact is Excalibur? That would only be fitting, wouldn’t it? Bumblebee, who will be leading the Autobots during Optimus Prime’s travel to Cybertron, will be returning. Also coming back are Hound, Crosshairs, and Drift. The Dinobots will be back as well, accompanied by some ‘mini-dinobots’.
The film is apparently adding some British Autobots to the fray as well. One of these Autobots is called ‘The Creator’, while the others are named Cogman (who turns into an Astin Martin), and one named Squeaks (who turns into a Vespa). Megatron will be the main villain in this film as well, who transforms into a fighter jet in this film.
