Avengers: Infinity War had a lot of big things for fans to digest. There were moments where Thanos’ efforts could have been thwarted early in the film, had it not been for the missed-steps of a few key characters.

There were many times throughout the events of Avengers: Infinity War where a certain character let their emotions overwhelm logic and duty, letting Thanos narrowly escape a situation where the Avengers were about to best him. They were all moments that could change the tide, but ultimately, Thanos snapped his fingers wiping out half of the galaxy, including half of our beloved heroes.
Although some fans point to Thor (Chris Hemsworth) failing to hit Thanos in the head with Stormbringer, most fans point to Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord letting his feelings for Gamora get the best of him, when Tony Stark and Peter Parker almost had the Infinity Gauntlet off of Thanos’ hand. It allowed Thanos the moment he needed to break free of their grasp and escape.
Pratt doesn’t agree with fans who blame his character. in an interview with Radio Times he defends Star Lord’s actions:
“Look – the guy watched his mother die, he watched as his father-figure died in his arms, he was forced to kill his own biological father. And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life. So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times I wouldn’t change a thing. And also, I blame Thanos, OK? Jeez, how come he’s not getting any blame? Clearly, I’m very sensitive about this.”
What characters will come back? Who is gone forever? Could we see Star-Lord get sweet redemption in Avengers 4?
