Star Wars The Force Awakens was known for its celebrity cameos, but according to one source, Star Wars Episode VIII will be doing the same. The first name to pop up with a cameo, none other than Max Rockatansky himself, Tom Hardy (Mad Max Fury Road).
There is no secret that in Star Wars The Force Awakens, J.J. Abrams included a lot of high-profile actors, friends, and family, giving them assorted role throughout the film. One of the most notable roles, was Daniel Craig (Spectre) as the Stormtrooper that Rey Jedi mind tricks. The film also starred Simon Pegg (Star Trek Beyond) as the alien who pays Rey her in rations for her salvage.
Making Star Wars reports that this practice will not just be limited to Star Wars The Force Awakens. The site reports that there is a rumor that Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Episode VIII will have a cameo role by Tom Hardy. Going further than that, they also have a breakdown of the scene that he will be in, and who he is:

- Tom Hardy plays a First Order stormtrooper.
- Said stormtrooper glimpses FN-2187 on a secret mission but doesn’t realize it.
- The ‘incognito’ FN-2187 is surprised when the stormtrooper walks up behind him and slaps him on the ass.
- FN-2187 turns around and believes he’s dead. He’s surely going to be captured.
- The stormtrooper is elated to see his old friend from back during their First Order academy days.
- The stormtrooper congratulates FN-2187 on his promotion to Resistance infiltrator and spy.
- FN-2187 is free to go about his business to his amazement.
It is unconfirmed whether we will see Hardy in the film, but this would be an interesting scene. It is humorous to see that every Stormtrooper is getting their own individuality in the new trilogy, where they were just cannon fodder in the original films.
