In a move that has nobody surprised, the Suicide Squad Blu-ray will have deleted footage from the film. The film will actually have 13 minutes of additional footage, which is far from the amount of scenes that Jared Leto claims to have filmed. So, you Leto Joker fans that were hoping to see his role in its entirety will have to wait.
Warner Bros. Pictures dropped a trailer for the Blu-ray release that features some of the new footage. The Blu-ray will be an extended cut of the film. I just wish they would have included multiple cuts. It would have been nice to see exactly how David Ayer wanted the film to be.
Jared Leto and some of the other cast from the film talked about how much was actually left on the cutting room floor at premieres for the film and in private interviews. Leto gave many interviews, discussing his irritation with how much of his role was cut from the final film. There is only 13 minutes of additional footage, so that still leaves additional scenes unaccounted for. There is no telling if we will ever actually see all of Jared Leto’s Joker performance, but we can only hope that what we see int he Extended Blu-ray Edition is enough to change our minds about his ghastly performance as the Clown Prince. Also previously cut rumors circulated that Slipknot’s back story was cut due to the graphic nature of his story. David Ayer even has his final cut revised before the studio would let it hit theaters.
You can check out the trailer below:
