D23 is just kicking off, but the House of Mouse is wasting no time giving us big announcements and reveals. Disney announces that Empire star Taraji P. Henson has joined Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. The announcement was made moments ago, where Henson walked out on-stage and revealed who she will play in the film, a character named ‘Yesss’. The only description we have of ‘Yesss’ is that she is an algorithm for a site called Buzzaholic, where she is an expert on all things viral throughout the internet.
A clip was shown at D23 that shows Vanellope meeting all of the Disney Princesses and some Star Wars characters. According to sources, the characters begin to fight with each other.
Many of the actresses who voiced princesses in the past also showed up on stage, including Ming Na Wen (Mulan), Idina Menzel & Kristen Bell (Frozen), Auli’i Cravalho (Moana), Jodi Benson (The Little Mermaid), Paige O’Hara (Beauty and the Beast), Linda Larkin (Aladdin), Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog), Mandy Moore (Tangled) and Kelly MacDonald (Brave).
John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman return as Ralph and Vanellope. In the sequel, they both head out onto the internet to get spare parts for Sugar Rush after it breaks. Check out the short video clip that is out on the showroom floor at D23:
