Thor: Love and Thunder will feature a new twist on the titular God of Thunder, or shall I say Goddess of Thunder. But what does Natalie Portman think of Jane’s transformation?
With all of the Covid setbacks to Marvel and the greater Hollywood landscape, it’s no secret that most casts are either oblivious to scripts or obeying gag-orders to the letter.
Yahoo recently sat down with Natalie Portman to talk about her upcoming Marvel return in Thor: Love and Thunder. So, what can fans expect from the soon-to-be Goddess of Thunder:
I can’t tell you that much. I’m really excited. I’m starting to train, to get muscles. If there can be all these female superheroes, the more of them they are, the better it is.
I’m trying to think — it’s based on the graphic novel of the Mighty Thor. She’s going through cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side.
What does that shed light on? Well, not much, really. These are basic characterizations that most fans already know about. The Mighty Thor storyline follows a cancer-ridden Jane Foster who becomes worthy of hoisting the mighty Mjolnir.
The film surly will not only bring Jane Foster to glory, but will bring fit Thor back to the MCU. With Taika Waititi at the helm, Love and Thunder‘s going to be one wild ride.
Waititi described Thor: Love and Thunder as, “Like 10-year-olds told us what should be in a movie and we said yes to every single thing.”
Taika went on to tell the BBC more about where he’s at with the script:
“I think it’s going to be really good. We’ve finished, we’ve been writing the script off and on for over a year and I’m just, actually this week, doing another pass on it. It is so insane and also very romantic.
I’m into romances now. I just want to make a romance, something that I’ve never done or never cared for. I would like to attack something like that.”
