We have finally made it into the top 2. Coming in at #2 is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This is a movie that is a hard one for me to watch. Have you ever been in a break-up that was so bad, you wished you had never met the person you were in love with? Did you wish in that moment that you could completely erase them from your memory? This is the very thing that Joel Barrish (Jim Carrey) does in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He voluntarily goes through a procedure that completely erases every last memory of his ex-girlfriend, (Kate Winslet), from his mind.

It is in watching every memory go, that he realizes the good memories were part of the deal too. This is when he fights for any memory of her. He realizes that she was worth the trouble and the heartache. He wants her back and does everything in his mind to keep her from disappearing, at any cost. This may not be the best movie to watch in the aftermath of a break-up, but for me it is.

We have to realize that during a break-up, it is hard to let go. One thing to remember is not to forget the good moments. They are experiences that mold who we are, and who we have become.
