Helmed by iconic anime director Shinichirō Watanabe, Blade Runner: Black Out 2022 is his dream-come-true. Watanabe is responsible for classic anime like Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, but his latest endeavor fills in the gaps between Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049. This is the third prequel for the film, and the final one. It covers the events that lead to the prohibition of Replicant production. This law is the sole motivation factor 2049s new villain Niander Wallace (Jared Leto).
