The complete winners list for the 2017 Academy Awards are in! This years’ ceremony was marked by controversy that took place near the end. When it came time to announce the winner of Best Picture, it was mistakenly announced as being “La La Land”, but the true winner was the Barry Jenkins film “Moonlight”. It was an unprecedented year for the Oscars, to say the least.
“La La Land” snagged five awards, with “Moonlight” getting three. “Hacksaw Ridge” and “Manchester by the Sea” both received two Oscars, with ‘Fantastic Beasts” and “Arrival” grabbing one. “The Jungle Book” beat out some impressive films to grab the award for Best Visual Effects. The biggest surprise of the night was “Suicide Squad” grabbing the award for Best Makeup & Hairstyling.
