Whatever side of the situation you are on, there is no denying that James Gunn’s firing shook Marvel to its core. He was a director that essentially had it all, and then, there was none. One big looming question still remains: Will Marvel use Gunn’s script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
Although the status of the film is in limbo at the present, it was uncertain if Marvel would use Gunn’s script until recently. The film’s star, Chris Pratt, recent said that maarvel intends to use Gunn’s script.
Now, Marvel president, Kevin Feige is confirms the statement made by Pratt. Marvel WILL use Gunn’s script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
In a recent interview with Cinema Blend, Feige says the studio intends on using the script. Gunn’s influence on the MCU will not go past Avengers: Endgame and the third Guardians of the Galaxy:
“His influence was Guardians. It was Guardians. It was his input on Guardians and the Avengers films, as you’ve seen in Infinity War, and on the Guardians 3 script, which we’re still using. So you’ll see that influence. I think online, sort of the notion of ‘architect across multiple cosmic things’ was slightly blown out of proportion.”
