Is a Third Live-Action ‘Star Wars’ In the Works for Disney+?

A recent report indicates that Disney is working on a third yet-to-be-announced live-action Star Wars series for its new streaming service Disney+. The report says that the series would come after The Mandalorian and the possible Cassian Andor series.

In a report published by Fantha Tracks, Disney has begun production on the new project shot under the name “SERIES III PRODUCTIONS (UK) LIMITED”. Disney registered the name on the public UK companies register on October 12. The souce of the story is publicly available company records.

An announcement of the new show should happen at the Star Wars Celebration sometime in mid-April. Disney hasn’t announced this new show, and it’s common for Disney to register businesses in blocks for convenience.

Disney seems to be pushing hard for original content on thier streaming service. SW looks to bring a heafty amount of content. When you pair that with what Marvel brings, it will be hard to pass on Disney+.

It is an interesting situation. The move indicates that there might (at least) be talks of another Star Wars series.
