2nd Trailer for Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ Turns Frank Castle Loose

The Punisher, Netflix

Netflix is moving forward with releasing their next Marvel television series The Punisher, coming in the middle of Netflix. The show’s release was delayed in the wake of the Las Vegas shooting, due to the nature of the material. Now the vigilante series receives the green light, and with it all of the carnage and rage of someone who lost his entire family. Frank Castle is about to get vengeance, and it all begins with this brutal trailer.

Check out the 2nd official trailer for Netflix’s The Punisher below:

It looks like the first season of the show will deal with Frank’s origin and delves deeper into the reasons for his vengeance. The show has few connections with the bigger Netflix Marvel universe. In the trailer, Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) has a brief appearance, but this seems to be Castle’s only connection to any of the other shows. It will undoubtedly travel further than the events of Daredevil season 2, but just how far is anyone’s guess.

The show’s synopsis hints that Frank Castle’s journey will continue from where we last saw him in Daredevil. But if you are to believe this trailer, then it is safe to assume that a fair amount of the show will deal with Castle’s origin.

The trailer is full of everything Punisher, including guns, blood, anger, and a whole hell of a lot of bullets. Does this mean that the show will be a family friendly series? I would say far from it.

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

Marvel’s The Punisher debuts on Netflix on November 17.
