We are mere days away from the début of AMC’s Preacher, and AMC has decided to give us a little taste of the insanity that this show will harness. Critics are raving about the television show, and AMC promises that audiences will not be disappointed. The clip has the first 4 minutes of the pilot episode. There may be spoilers in the clip. Directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, this show will up the craziness to level 11. There is really a lot to digest here. Prepare yourselves, because this show is going to be insane, and will not hold back on graphic content. Heres is the official synopsis of the show:
Based on the twisted and popular ‘90s comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher,” created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, is the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) embark on a journey to, literally, find God.
The clip starts off seeing the demon, Genesis, coming to Earth to possess a preacher. Things do go as planned, and that poor preacher explodes. The clip shows us a bit of Jesse’s father in a flashback, and some lovely Ratwater whiskey. The violence is going to be big, and the gore is going to be plentiful. I would have to say, ‘Nice Touch’ with Jesse’s church marquee. Too funny.
The footage I saw at SXSW this year was amazing. I have a feeling that this show is going to quickly become one of my favorites. Did I miss anything? Let me know in the comments section.
