It seems as though Covid-19 has another victim. Disney announced that both Black Widow and Cruella release simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+ with premier access.

Marvel Studios fought the good fight for a long time to get a full theatrical releaser for the stand-alone Black Widow. Unfortunately, time’s run out for the hold-outs. It seems that Disney’s finally succumbing to the effects of the pandemic.

Both films also changed their release dates. Cruella hits theaters on Friday, May 28, and Black Widow drops on Friday, July 9. Both film will likely garner an additional $30 fee to watch through Premier Access.

These aren’t the only two films on the Disney slate getting shifted and shaken-up. Pixar’s Luca will skip theaters altogether, debuting exclusively on Disney+.

Pixar’s Luca will take the same track as Soul, hitting Disney+ for the basic subscription price, rather than having to pay for the Premier Access. The film skips a theatrical release and jumps straight to the streaming service on June 18.
