‘Aquaman’ Drops Epic First Trailer! Yes, I Said Aquaman Looks Epic

Aquaman, Warner Brothers Pictures

There is no doubting that James Wan wanted his Aquaman movie to stand out among a slew of bad DC films. The trailer premiered at the Warner Brothers Panel at San Diego Comic-Con and left the audience stunned. This movie looks great. Could it finally mean that DC and Warner Brothers are learning their lesson? Check out the first EPIC trailer for Aquaman below:According to Wan, he didn’t want this film to feel like a typical superhero movie:

“I wanted to create a superhero film that we’ve never quite seen before. I wanted our film to be more unique. So my movie plays more like a science fiction fantasy film than a traditional superhero movie.”

In a franchise that has a few reluctant actor playing popular roles, its nice to see how motivated and confident Jason Momoa is in his portrayal of the King of Atlantis. The trailer feels more like a science fiction film, rather than a superhero film. A lot of this has to do with the setting and the scope of the movie. Wan may be on the verge of a major hit with this movie.
