‘Batman v Superman’ Deleted Scene Clarifies Movies Ending

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' Deleted Scene, Warner Brothers Pictures

In a  rather unique move, Warner Brothers Pictures has released a deleted scene, titled ‘Communion’, from their superhero blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, via their YouTube account. There is no doubt that this clip was released in response to the very vague statements that Lex Luthor makes to Batman at the end of the film.

If you were like many other people in theaters around the world, the last scene of the film left you a little confused. Just what was Lex talking about? He mentions that the bell has been wrung, and everyone among the stars has heard it. These are two very strange things to say. These statements connections to the bigger DC Universe are not clear based on the events of the film.

The good folks at Warner Brothers have decided to clarify things a bit, by releasing a deleted scene that gives you a little more understanding on what Lex was talking about. Here is the clip below:

In the scene we see Lex getting his Kryptonian history lesson from the downed Kryptonian ship, while a group of soldiers walk up on him. We don’t know whether this happens before or after Doomsday is unleashed. I am assuming that due to the blood-colored water, this scene takes place after the Doomsday event. I am sure that this is a scene showing Lex’s final capture, but the capture is not the most interesting thing in the scene.

Who is the Demon figure that is projected before Lex? Some have speculated that it is Darkseid’s minion Steppenwolf, one of Darkseid’s Lieutenants. It is a good choice, but I am thinking that this may be Darkseid’s father, Yuga Khan. There are two reasons for this. One is that Khan bears a resemblance to the demon creäture in front of Lex, and the second is that Zack Snyder has really pushed the father/son theme in these films. This would only take that theme a step further.

We already know that Justice League will be a two-part film, so it would only be logical for Snyder to bring in Khan during part 1, and then Darkseid in part 2. There is another thing to note about the scene, and that is the appearance of the Mother Boxes around the demon figure. The very same box that was used to give Cyborg life in the S.T.A.R. Labs footage that Lex had in his computer.

The appearance of the Mother Boxes tells me that this is definitely Khan in front of Lex. Khan can control the energy that flows through the boxes, which is why they seem to be floating around the demon figure.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is in theaters now.
