Activision recently announced that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot became the most-played multiplayer game in the Call of Duty franchise in its first 50 days after release.

Modern Warfare also became the top-selling premium game of 2019 in the U.S. global sales passing the $1 billion mark. Gamers logged over 500 million multiplayer hours since the release date, playing almost 300 million multiplayer matches.

The records don’t stop there. According to an Activision representative, the game’s reaching “franchise highs for this console generation in hours played, hours per player and average daily players”.

The game is one of the first games to include cross-platform play and cross-progression support. The game also has a number of free post-release content dropping throughout the first year after launch.
