Six Interactive Messenger Games to Play On Your Phone

Interactive messenger games are my favorite mobile games. While some of these games are available on consoles, it’s easier to stay immersed on a mobile. The aim of these games is to normally solve mysteries through a phone. It’s easy to compare most of these games to a TV series. Part of this is because some of them break their long-form stories into episodes.

However, the main reason is due to them being live-action with actors portraying the characters around you. You’ll often play a character who’s either connected to the other characters or just meeting them for the first time.

You’ll rarely be in the same room as these characters. This is mostly to do with how difficult it’d be for your character to be in the scene. Since the main character is an extension of you using an actor would break that immersion. The number one point of these games is to make sure you stay in the immersion of your character, the relationships you form and the story.

That’s why even if you know the characters you’ll only speak to them through a phone and you’ll usually be in a different setting than them. Various examples of this will be provided throughout the article.

There are multiple developers who are part of this market. From all of the games I’ve played so far, I’ve yet to come across a company that hasn’t created an enjoyable experience. They do this through a mixture of compelling stories, actors who feel like they’re your friends and a thrilling interactive exploration of a phone, as well as the features that come with it.

Most of the time these games delve into the thriller and horror genres. Furthermore, you’ll often find yourself going toe to toe with some nefarious foe. Whether it’s Dr Crow from The Healing or the Man Without a Face from Duskwood, you’ll never be starved for a compelling villain to make you feel like the hero.

Let’s take a look at several interactive messenger games you could be playing now!
