Last year it was announced The CW’s Arrowverse will bring DC’s greatest story to the small screen with Crisis on Infinite Earths. Better yet, the show features not one Superman, but two.
In the comic, Crisis on Infinite Earth, the entire collection of DC superheroes and villains bang together to take down their greatest threat who wants to destroy the Multiverse.
The Anti-Monitor has yet to be cast for the crossover version, although the Reverse Flash will team-up with the villain leading an army of shadow people.
Unfortunately, it will be the last time Stephen Amell dons the Green Arrow costume but thankfully it isn’t all bad news.
According to Deadline, and later confirmed by Brandon Routh, the latter will suit up once more as the Boy Scout.
That’s right, Brandon Routh will be playing Clark Kent/Superman in Crisis on Infinite Earths. Don’t worry though as Tyler Hoechlin will also return as Superman too. It means we will be getting not only one Superman, but two, and that’s not all.
Routh will also be playing his CW role of Ray Palmer, the Atom.
Crisis on Infinite Earths will also open with one of the biggest moments from the comic. Talking to Comicbook.com, Marc Guggenheim confirmed:
“Basically we’re gonna begin, this is an exclusive, we’re gonna begin the way Crisis on Infinite Earths the comic begins, which is the destruction of various parallel universes.”
He also proceeds to talk about how they want to incorporate as many moments from the comic into the crossover. There are several moments fans will hope won’t happen though, such as the death of Supergirl and the Flash.
However, fans are already aware that there is a high chance we will see the death of the Green Arrow.
Although there are some theories that Oliver won’t die and will instead be transported to a pocket dimension to live in peace.
Crisis on Infinite Earths will bring together characters from Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and the upcoming Batwoman series.
Sadly there’s no news on what exact characters will appear though.
Crisis on Infinite Earths will air at the end of 2019 and at the beginning of 2020.
