‘Scream’ – Ranking the Entries of the Killer Franchise

Scream is one of the biggest horror franchises next to A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th among others. It shares a director with A Nightmare on Elm Street in the late Wes Craven. The first movie is one of the best horror movies and uses the rules and tropes of horror to parody other films. However, this isn’t Scary Movie – it’s not an over-the-top parody. It’s as serious as every other movie and takes pride in being a franchise of its own.

The main cast features Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette and Roger L Jackson. The latter provides the voice for Ghostface. While it’s always someone different under the costume, they all use the same voice changer. Over the years, the franchise has seen stars such as Matthew Lillard, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Patrick Dempsey and Emma Roberts.

Before we delve into the ranking, be mindful that there are spoilers. I’ve kept the newest Scream movie’s spot mostly devoid of spoilers but the other movies will be talked about in detail more. Bare in mind the following ranking is only my opinion.

So, which Scream takes the number five spot?

Next – No. 5
